Ultimately the head of GracePoint is Jesus Christ. As an organization, we seek to reflect His priorities in all we do and how we do it. No decision is ever made that would knowingly contradict any of Jesus’ teaching. GP is a "staff-led, elder-protected" model.
The Lead Pastor is the point person for leading the overall vision and strategy for GP. The Elders exists to protect the vision and mission by providing wisdom, insight and spiritual encouragement. The staff are entrusted in their specific ministry area to lead GracePoint.
We take organization in leadership with utmost seriousness because there is so much at stake and because of the price that was paid through Jesus.
John Maxwell reminds us that, “Everything rises and falls on leadership.” Anything we do in life involves other people. When ‘other people’ are involved, leadership is necessary in order to take the group, the plan, the vision where it needs to go.
- Personnel determine the potential of the organization.
- Relationships determine the morale of the organization.
- Structure determines the size of the organization.
- Vision determines the direction of the organization.
- Leadership determines the success of the organization.
We are really big on keeping things simple. While every single person on staff has an exhaustive job description with many details, each job description also contains a “one sentence summary” at the top that summarizes that role. Clarity is the key.
